For those who are COVID-asymptomatic and require a test to visit a long-term care home, retirement home, or other congregate living setting visits, as well as most other requirements, community paramedics will be at the Canada Summit Centre on July 30 to conduct testing.
An appointment is not needed to be tested at one of Muskoka’s drive-through locations; wait times will vary depending on volumes.
Individuals must wear a mask and bring a valid health card.
Anyone travelling from outside of the Muskoka region, is asked to be tested at their local COVID-19 Assessment Centre before making the trip here unless they do not have another option.
People being tested are asked to follow directions posted on the signs and to remain in their vehicle at all times. Proceed to the testing tent only when advised to do so by a community paramedic.
Testing is available by appointment for symptomatic people and asymptomatic people not planning to visit a long-term care home, retirement home, or other congregate living setting. Those who need testing should call their primary care provider or the Muskoka Assessment Centre at 1-888-383-7009.
The assessment centres and community paramedics do not have test results nor do they control the length of time it takes to process COVID tests. Those being tested will be given information at the drive-through or assessment centre about how to access test results.
