On Friday August 21st, 2020 at approximately 1:05 a.m., Officers from the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a car being driven in a dangerous manner in downtown Huntsville.
The OPP located the car at approximately 1:12 a.m. parked in front a business on Cann St. Huntsville. Police detected an odour of alcohol on the driver and determined that the driver Mark MCAUGHEY had been drinking.
The investigation resulted in Mark MCAUGHEY a 57-year-old male from Huntsville Ontario being charged with the following:
– Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, contrary to section 320.14 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
– Operation while impaired, contrary to section 320.14 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code.
– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code.
MCAUGHEY was released and will be appearing in the Ontario Court of Justice, Huntsville Ontario, on October 14th, 2020 to answer to his charges.
On Saturday August 22nd, 2020 at approximately 4:04 p.m., officers from the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a vandalism and impaired complaint. The vandalism was to signs located at a private beach in the area of Ski Club Road, Huntsville. The lone male who was involved in the vandalism drove off from the private beach and was thought to have been drinking.
The OPP located the car at approximately 4:12 p.m. being driven on Highway 60 and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 60 and Szawlowski Dr. Huntsville. Police detected an odour of alcohol on the driver and determined that the driver Igor POTAPOV had been drinking.
The investigation resulted in Igor POTAPOV a 59-year-old male from Vaughan Ontario being charged with the following:
– Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, contrary to section 320.14 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
– Mischief-destroys or damages property, contrary to section 430 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code.
Igor POTAPOV was released and will be appearing in the Ontario Court of Justice, Huntsville Ontario, on October 21st, 2020 to answer to his charges.
