A Huntsville Hospital Foundation video thanks nurses during National Nursing Week

It’s National Nursing Week: HHF video thanks our local nurses

National Nursing Week is held annually in May to coincide with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. It’s an opportunity to celebrate and thank dedicated registered nurses and nurse practitioners.

The Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HHF) has done just that with a video released this week, which contains thanks from patients, physicians, and hospital administrators.

The video was created by Jennifer Simpson, development associate at HHF.

“We wanted to create this video to honour the amazing nurses at our hospital during National Nurses Week and highlight the important role they play in our community,” she says. “The pandemic has gone on for longer than any of us could have imagined and those on the frontlines are coping with daily stress and fatigue beyond the normal. Now more than ever we need to let them know that they are not alone and that their community stands behind them. As cases have skyrocketed across Ontario in this third wave it is important that we all hunker down and follow all of the restrictions to help alleviate the pressure on our hospitals. Together we can come out of this stronger and more unified as a community. Let’s start by thanking a nurse today and maybe a different frontline worker tomorrow!”
