If you’ve been missing the ability to borrow books from Huntsville Public Library, the wait is over. The library is launching a Library-To-Go service on November 10 that will allow patrons to both return and borrow books.
“We want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time while the Town of Huntsville repaired the Library facility, to which we are grateful,” said David Tremblay, HPL CEO and chief librarian, in a media release. “This patience, empathy, and support from our community provided strength to us during this pandemic. Our community and team members are vital to the library and vice versa. This importance remains front and centre, especially during this pandemic. Thus the health and safety of our team
members and community are vital during this time.”
The library building will remain closed.
If you are returning items, the drop box will be open 24/7 beginning at 10 a.m. on Nov. 10, 2020. Staff ask that you not return materials if you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. It may take up to a week for the items to be removed from your account. Get more information about using the drop box here.
To borrow from the library, patrons can place up to five items on hold online and will be notified when they are ready for pick up. Those items can be picked up during the library’s modified business hours (see below). For more information on how this service works, click here.
The library’s modified hours of operation are:
Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m, and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (Closed from 12-1 p.m.)
Friday from 1-4 p.m and 5-6 p.m.
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (Closed from 12-1 p.m.)
Sunday: Closed

Thank you, Town of Huntsville for helping Huntsville Library to reopen! Many seniors are missing the
opportunity to borrow books to help them through this quiet, lonely time. To get lost in a book, helps to
pass the time away. Would the deliver service for seniors be resuming?
Thank you to the staff, for your online, children’s story times, crafts, and much more! What would we do
without you ! Your whole team is doing a fabulous job !
