When Rick Wearing and Sandra Parrott are out on the ice curling, it’s inevitable how strong their sense of partnership is. They’re naturally attuned with one another as husband and wife, and while their team doesn’t always win every game they play, Rick and Sandra always walk away feeling good about the way their team played. Both personally and professionally, this bond drives them to make the most of every opportunity together.
Rick and Sandra are both longtime Huntsville residents. Sandra has lived in this area since she was 12-years-old and has a strong connection to this great community. Rick and Sandra live in Huntsville year-round and love experiencing the area, no matter the season.
In addition to their favourite team sport of curling, Rick enjoys playing golf, working out at Fitt Gym and gardening, all the while keeping up to date on sporting events taking place around the world. Sandra, a voracious reader, can often be found devouring books and also enjoys working out at Fitt Gym.
When not working with sellers and buyers, Rick and Sandra love to spend as much time as possible with their blended family of six children and their families – Michael Parrott and Theresa McNeilly, Lauren Parrott, Stephanie Parrott, Casey and Matt Cruise, Jamie and Rob Johnson, Drew Wearing and Kelly Armstrong. Rick and Sandra are also blessed to have five grandchildren – Violet, Bodhi, Clara, Preston and Georgia as well as granddogs, labrador retrievers Win and Tucker.
Rick and Sandra also take pleasure in spending time at their Huntsville home with border terriers Fergie and Piper and Shorty the cat, with friends at the Huntsville Curling Club and the local golf courses. Travel is important in Rick and Sandra’s life. They are excited to visit Portugal in the fall of 2020, and in the future, New Zealand and Australia, as well as their respective ancestral roots in England and Ireland.
Both Rick and Sandra believe community connections and support are important. They enjoy working with different Huntsville and Muskoka organizations to lend a helping hand. Rick and Sandra have partnered with and supported many local organizations, such as The Table Soup Kitchen and Food Bank, where they serve monthly at the local soup kitchen; they are active members and partners with Muskoka Community Church, The Door Youth Centre, The Huntsville Curling Club, Rotary Theatrical Productions and The Huntsville Festival of the Arts. In September of 2019 Rick and Sandra were happy to begin volunteering each Tuesday morning to support the Breakfast Club at Pine Glen Public School, providing healthy snacks to the kids before they begin their school day.
Trust in an enduring 25-year partnership
Rick and Sandra both graduated from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) – Rick in 1978 (Social Science) and Sandra in 1980 (Law). Before becoming a realtor in Huntsville in 1986, Rick was a corporate executive with a North American franchise painting company and owned a self-catering resort, The Village Inn in Port Sydney on Mary Lake. Before becoming a realtor in Huntsville in 1991, Sandra was a lawyer in Huntsville and Bracebridge who specialized in real estate law. Sandra had the honour of being the first female lawyer in Muskoka.
This year Rick and Sandra are celebrating the 25-year anniversary of their real estate partnership founded in 1995. That real estate partnership has stood the test of time, as today Rick and Sandra are one of the most established and experienced real estate partnerships in the Muskoka region. Their partnership, along with their professional one, is built to last. Together they use their combined experience, passions and perseverance to provide nothing but the finest service to their clients and community. Rick, a licensed Broker, is also recognized as a market value appraiser (MVA-Residential), and has attained certification with The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing as a certified luxury home marketing specialist and is a member of the Million Dollar Guild.
Sandra, a licensed sales representative, uses her law background and training to the benefit of her buying and selling clients, although for insurance reasons she cannot provide legal advice to them. Although Sandra no longer practices law, she understands it to a level beyond most real estate professionals, and she is one realtor to have at your side when it comes to an understanding of real estate property issues.
Always keeping on top of the most current real estate trends and developments, in March 2019, Rick and Sandra completed staging to sell, what every agent should know and earned The RESA certified advocate designation.
Rick and Sandra’s real estate partnership business is a referral-based business with the majority of their business, listings and selling coming from referrals from past clients, their past clients’ families and friends, and real estate and other professionals.
Rick and Sandra are proud to be affiliated nationally with Canada’s oldest and largest real estate company, Royal LePage.
Locally Rick and Sandra are part of Royal LePage Lakes of Muskoka Realty Inc., the largest brokerage with the largest market share in the Muskoka Region.
