Further to a media release issued by the Town of Huntsville yesterday indicating that the street lights at the Hanes Road and Centre Street intersection would be turned on today, there has been a delay.
Claude Doughty, one of the partners in the Paisley Centre development, said there has been a delay due to the extensive line painting that’s required. He said the painting gets done early in the morning so there is little traffic interference and because it rained last night, it could not be done “because it makes a mess so they had to postpone and they’re planning to come tonight to do it and then we have the people that install the traffic lights come tomorrow morning to turn them on.”
The developers of the Paisley Centre have contributed funds towards enhancing the intersection and are putting in the lights as part of the overall development in the area as well as donating lands for the new Fairven Nursing Home. Part of the island along Centre Street will also be removed so left turn can occur into the new home.
