Volunteers collect nearly 70 garbage bags of refuse along roadsides

If you were driving along Ravenscliffe Road or Aspdin Road during the month of August you might have been surprised to see teams of people picking up roadside garbage.

These people were volunteers from the Lake Vernon Association and they were working to clean up these roadsides from Hyw 11 to Muskoka 45 surrounding Lake Vernon. Over the 4 weeks in August, they collected nearly 70 bags of assorted discarded items from the roadsides, and with the help of Edmonds GMC this garbage was disposed of.

Thanks go out to the many volunteers from the Lake Vernon Association and their families who helped in this effort. The LVA would also like to thank A&W, Home Depot, Rolston Home Building Centre, Bickley Ford, and Sandhills Nursery for supplying prizes and making the event a little more exciting!

Thank you Lake Vernon Association volunteers for cleaning-up the litter. It is sad that there was so much litter on our roadsides.
