Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) via Twitter yesterday evening announced that visits to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Huntsville hospital would be suspended immediately until further notice because the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) placed the ICU under “unit-specific COVID-19 outbreak status.”
It said testing of patients and staff is underway as part of outbreak management protocols.
As of this morning, August 11, 2022, MAHC is reporting that it is caring for 13 COVID-19 patients between both sites, and three of those patients are associated with a COVID outbreak.
