Traffic interruption on Chaffey Street from November 6-9 for sidewalk installation

 

Expect some traffic disruption on Chaffey Street this week between Manominee and Cann Streets. There will be lane closures due to a sidewalk installation from November 6 to November 9.

    Does Public Works have to wait until November to see how their budget is being depleted? Needless to say, this is hardly an ideal time to be pouring cement: covering it with burlap will be insufficient to ensure proper curing if the nighttime temperatures plummet considerably. Of course, 28-day strength isn’t as important with sidewalks, as with other concrete appurtenances.

    More interesting is what has caused the abundant marking of utilities throughout the downtown core and RM park area, as well as the square Grey boxes being installed on various lamp posts in various areas…Wi-Fi hot spots????
