Traffic complaint leads to arrest of impaired driver

The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered an impaired driving investigation on May 23, 2024.

On May 23, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a call for service regarding a driving complaint on Highway 11 Southbound in the Town of Huntsville. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged.  

John ISKANDER, 47 years old from Midland, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 23, 2024.

The OPP remains committed to ensuring Ontario roads are safe from drug-impaired and alcohol-impaired drivers. If you plan on consuming drugs or alcohol, please arrange a safe ride home. If you suspect someone to be operating a motor vehicle while impaired, please call 9-1-1.

    It’s funny people are soo considered about liquor and beer sales being approved in convience stores as they act like its the fault of the businesses for selling lol

    The OPP are trying to keep us safe from drunk drivers and new proposal to sell alcohol in convenient stores and grocery stores. It seems one step forward and 5 steps back.
