Enliven Cancer Care recognized by Soapstones Natural Skincare on World Cancer Day

On this day, February 4, nations around the globe come together in solidarity for World Cancer Day, an internationally recognized day dedicated to raising awareness of cancer, and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. It is therefore fitting that today, Soapstones Natural Skincare announced its ongoing commitment to Enliven Cancer Care in Muskoka.

David McLean, the owner of Soapstones, and husband of the original co-founder of Enliven, Joanne McLean, shared, “For the past five years, we have contributed financially to Enliven, providing 50 per cent of the net proceeds of our Enliven-scented product line. Over the years, I have witnessed Enliven grow and mature as a critical resource in Muskoka supporting those living with cancer and their caregivers, and am very impressed with the impact it is having. As a consequence, this year, we contributed more than the original formula would have suggested, giving $10,000. Although she has passed, I know Joanne would be amazed and overjoyed with the progress Enliven has made and is having in this community.”

Receiving the cheque for Enliven was board of directors chairperson, Carrie Campbell.

Campbell added, “Soapstones’ support over the years has proven fundamental to our ongoing operations in this community. We are very grateful to David and the Soapstones team for this contribution of $10,000 which will be used directly for client programming to offer additional support for those with cancer and their caregivers.”

Enliven Cancer Care is your local charity—here to support all those living with cancer, whether you are receiving treatment, you are caring for someone with cancer, or you assist people with cancer in your profession.

Enliven facilitates social connections, support and information through their programming, which they invite you to check out. You are not alone. Please visit enlivenmuskoka.ca for information about their current programming, or to find ways to contribute to this very worthwhile organization.
