Police execute drug warrant in South River

On Monday November 7, 2022 at approximately 12 p.m. members of the North East Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a drug warrant on an Isabella Street residence.  

As a result of the warrant, police located and seized the following drugs:

  • Approximately 38 grams of crack cocaine
  • Approximately 18 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 8 grams methamphetamine
  • Percocets
  • $1170 Canadian Currency

As a result, police arrested and charged Jason SIMPELL 40 years-of-age of South River Ontario with the following offences: 

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than Heroin), contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) two counts

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in Sundridge Ontario.
