PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise, will be presenting their PAROBiz Huntsville19 From Dreaming to Achieving event on March 7, 2019 at Hidden Valley Resort, Huntsville.
This full-day professional development Event and Awards Ceremony is a celebration of women in business and International Women’s Day.
Officially launching the event is Keynote speaker Yvonne Heath. Yvonne shares her message—with heart and humour— using intelligence, empathy and genuine uplifting spirit, to combine a powerful mix of personal insights and lessons. Yvonne demonstrates how we can live well and transform our world into a happier place. Yvonne is the Founder of the I Just Showed up Movement, teaching people of all ages to show up for themselves and others, so they are empowered and resilient when “grief” arrives.
Another key component of PAROBiz Huntsville19 is the Awards Luncheon that recognizes exceptional entrepreneurs for their achievements and community leadership.
In addition to the Awards Luncheon, PAROBiz Huntsville19: From Dreaming to Achieving Event offers participants the chance to be inspired through motivating keynote speakers and workshops, a unique panel of entrepreneurs, a tradeshow exhibition featuring local women in business, and networking. An impressive slate of eight speed mentors join this year’s line-up, offering round-table business tips and expertise to women entrepreneurs.
Rosalind Lockyer, Executive Director of PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise says, “The focus of this year’s PAROBiz is to celebrate IWD, the achievements of women in business, but also to inspire others. The event will be filled with successful women who walk the talk everyday of their lives by contributing to the business fabric of our region. If one woman leaves PAROBiz with a new sense of empowerment, motivation and ideas about how to turn their business dreams into reality, then we have achieved our goal.”
PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise (PARO) is a women-centered economic development organization that launched in 1995. Since the beginning, we have continued to diversify the range and reach of our programs and services to meet the changing socio-economic environments of our communities. We seek to empower women and families within their communities, strengthen small business and promote community economic development (CED) through integrated and women-centered program delivery. This addresses the growing economic needs and aspirations of women in Northern, Northeastern, Eastern, and Southeastern Ontario. Today, PARO offers services to women, people with disabilities, youth and social entrepreneurs.
This year’s theme for IWD, #InnovateForChange, is a call to action, asking everyone to harness the power of technology to create an equal world. By removing the barriers facing women in a growing digital divide, we can unleash new ideas and solutions that will transform our society and strengthen our economy. This conference provides insight and opportunity to utilize the power of technology to assist in closing the digital divide.
