On January 4, 2019 just after 5:00pm Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police detachment members were at a RIDE lane on Muskoka Rd #3 N in the Town of Huntsville. A Mazda approached the members and it was determined that the female driver had been drinking.
As a result of the investigation Jennifer CROWDER, a 25-year-old female from Bracebridge was arrested and eventually charged with having more than 80mgs of alcohol. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 6, 2019 to answer to her charges.
In speaking to the male passenger it was determined that he had cocaine in his possession along with a quantity of Cannabis marihuana. Dale ATFIELD, a 32-year-old male from Huntsville was charged with Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine, under the Controlled Drug Substances Act and Possession of over 30gm of dried cannabis in a public place, under the Cannabis Act. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 6, 2019 to answer to his charges.
Huntsville OPP would like to remind Cannabis users to familiarize themselves with the new rules and regulations around possessing and transporting their marihuana.

Hi Deborah. The spelling is correct, although archaic. It is the spelling that was used in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and is the form that the OPP continues to use.
