OPP investigating a serious Hwy 60 collision

On May 6, 2022 at approximately 5:22 p.m., officers from the Huntsville Detachment responded to a call for service for a head-on motor vehicle collision. Officers located the collision in the west bound lane of Highway 60 in the area of Harp Lake Road. The collision involved two SUVs.

Highway 60 was closed in both directions as OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist completed their on-scene investigation.

Three persons, a 66-year-old female driver, 49-year-old male driver and his passenger a 45-year-old female were transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services to a local hospital. The 66-year-old female was later taken by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto-area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available.

Anyone with dash camera footage or other information related to this incident is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or the Huntsville Detachment at 705-789-5551.

2SUVs? Both vehicles in the eastbound lanes? Perhaps but the picture tells a different story. Not really all that important when people are hurt but seems odd to tell a story with less than accurate details.
