From the Almaguin Highlands OPP
Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision (MVC) on Rain Lake Road in Kearney involving a side-by-side utility terrain vehicle (UTV).
On October 4, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands OPP, Parry Sound District Paramedic Service, and the Kearney Fire Department responded to a serious roll over MVC.
Both driver and passenger were ejected from the UTV and were transported to hospital via ambulance. The driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital, and the passenger suffered serious life-altering injuries.
The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team (TIME) is assisting with this investigation.
Rain Lake Road was closed for approximately 7 hours. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
