At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25, Huntsville OPP issued the following advisory on social media: #HvilOPP is advising the public about heavy police presence in the area of Highview Drive in Huntsville. Police are asking residents to avoid the area during the investigation. More information will be released when available. ^dm
∼ 10:30 pm, area residents reporting that the OPP is knocking on doors telling residents to go to the basement if possible. OPP has closed-off access to Highview Drive and Fairyview Drive.
∼ 11:30 pm OPP officer on duty reported incident had been contained, but roads remained closed.
