The Muskoka Montessori School is currently seeking a part-time French teacher to work with students in Grades 1-8 starting September 1, 2021.

As French teacher, you would have the opportunity to work with small ability-based groups, guiding children to learn the French language. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal and communication skills; who loves to challenge, guide and inspire children; and who would like to be part of a close-knit staff team.

The school has a full set of curriculum materials ready to use, including AIM French teaching method books and resources. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Education, strong French skills, and teaching experience is preferred.

Taking on a role with the Muskoka Montessori School team of teachers offers the opportunity to work in a beautiful little independent school, located on a large natural property just outside of Huntsville. Opened in 1999, our non-profit school has been providing high-quality education to children in Muskoka for over twenty years. Students range in age from three years through Grade 8. We make it our mission to help each child to reach his or her potential; to guide children to be independent and enthusiastic learners; and to become individuals who contribute in a positive way to our diverse global community.

At our school, teachers are important team members who work cooperatively with administration, as part of a supportive, caring environment. We provide regular opportunities for professional development in support of life-long learning. Once teachers take on a position at the Muskoka Montessori School, they tend to stay. We have a very low staff turnover, high job satisfaction, and amazing quality of life.

If working in this type of school environment sounds appealing to you, please send your resume to the school principal, Jennifer Daynard (jennifer@muskokamontessori.ca).

If the public school board can’t find French teachers and the pay is $65-$104k per year, how on earth will the montessori?

Hi, we will be moving to the Huntville area in June 2021. I hold a certificate in French and German and will be glad to apply for any French position available. James Rockwell, I have not seen any French positions come up in the last several months. Do you have any suggestions?
