A message from the Town of Huntsville
The Province of Ontario released new updates today in a May 14th press release to ease some restrictions starting Saturday May 16, 2020. Restrictions on Municipal services and facilities continue to remain unaffected by this announcement for Saturday, however the Town will continue to evaluate impact on services and facilities for stage 1 implementation.
With the Victoria Day May long weekend fast approaching, the Town of Huntsville would like to remind residents that provincial emergency orders are still in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Long weekend updates include:

- Fire Ban: Fire Ban remains in effect. No burning or fireworks at any time of day. For after-hour reporting, please contact by-law at 705 789-6421 ext. 3039 or 3041.
- Provincial Parks and Conservation Areas: The Ontario government has re-opened provincial parks and conservation reserves for limited day-use. Arrowhead and Algonquin Park are open for day-use as of May 15, 2020 but washrooms and amenities remain closed. Please obey all posted signage and check http://www.ontarioparks.com/covid19 for the status of your local provincial park.
- Private Parks and Campgrounds: As of Saturday May 16, 2020 at 12:01am private parks and campgrounds may open to enable preparation for the season and to allow access for trailers and recreational vehicles whose owners have a full season contract.
- Town Sport Fields, Playgrounds, Beaches and Dog Parks: Continue to remain closed.
- Town Parks and Trails: Town parks and trails are open for walk throughs. Residents are asked to obey all posted signage, maintain a 2m distance from others and use caution around amenities for they are not being sanitized at this time.
- Public Washrooms: Public washrooms in downtown Huntsville will be open as of Saturday May 16, 2020. Please obey all posted signage.
- Garage and Yard Sales: Garage and yard sales are not allowed until further notice. Fines may apply.
- Boat Launches and Marinas: Municipal boat launches continue to remain open at this time. Residents are asked to obey all posted signage. Marinas, boat clubs and public boat launches may open for recreational use as of Saturday May 16, 2020 at 12:01am.

Mayor Karin Terziano asks residents to continue following provincial orders and best health practices. “It is important that we continue to work together as a community and remain diligent with recommended best health practices as restrictions begin to ease. Please limit your outings and do not gather with those outside your immediate household.”
