MP Tony Clement announces intention to run in 2019 federal election

The Conservative Party of Canada has confirmed that Tony Clement will represent the party as its candidate in the 2019 federal election.

“It is my great honour to once again have my name placed on the ballot for the next federal election for the Conservative Party. In 2019, I will be campaigning on a positive and prosperous vision for Parry Sound-Muskoka and all of Canada. Since being re-elected to my fourth term in Parliament in 2015, I have been working alongside my Conservative colleagues to hold the Liberal government to account for their many broken promises, high spending ways and bloated deficit,” said Clement.

As the Conservative Party prepares for the 2019 election, MP Clement said he is impressed by how new leader Andrew Scheer has united the party and introduced himself to Canadians.

“The more Canadians see and learn about Andrew Scheer, the more they come to know that he has a great passion for Canada and is working hard to make certain families and our job creators have every opportunity for success. He will be the next Prime Minister of Canada, and I am proud to be part of the Conservative team with Andrew at the helm,” said Clement.

Your Cons did not want Tony as leader. They prefer the rich, unethical and morally ambiguous smile that Scheer is.

  2. Bill Beatty says:

100% Mike. Tony would be an excellent PM unlike the Lighweight publicity unethical rich boy we have wracking up huge debt for future generations !

I’ve been a conservative all my life,I wouldn’t know Andrew Scheer if I saw him. The conservative party
needs strong leadership right now, with someone who is known and experienced. In my opinion that
is Tony Clement, who should be our next prime minister. He would start to clean up the debt and the mess
that the Liberal govertment has left for our grandchildren.

glad some one else sees through his cheesy smile and “ah shucks” way of presenting himself. No reflection on Tony but Scheer is no better than his previous boss.

  5. Darlene Wilkinson says:

Glad to hear Tony is running again! He does so much for us here in Muskoka. He has my vote!

  6. Susan Godfrey says:

Yes, Andrew Scheer will be good for “certain families”(my emphasis) meaning the religious right and “job creators” meaning corporations.
