After a successful 30 years as a mainstay in the Huntsville fitness industry, it is with definite mixed emotions we announce that we (Lorraine, Kym, and Mark) have decided to retire and to dissolve the corporation of Motivations Fitness. It is our intention to begin the process of liquidation immediately and look to the end of September for our official closure. It has become increasingly clear that the future of fitness is headed in a new direction and we must adjust our goals and plans accordingly.
At this time, we would like to offer an acknowledgement and thank you for the support and encouragement provided to Motivations Fitness by Mayor Terziano and the elected officials of the Town of Huntsville. Our tenure in Muskoka has given us the opportunity to meet and partner with so many people and organizations that have given selflessly to make this town better and stronger. We remain committed to the Town of Huntsville and its resilience, we will continue to work to encourage both physical and mental health and wellness.
As we head to retirement, we say a HUGE thank you to all of our Motivators! You have given us 28-plus years of wonderful memories, friendships, and a front-row seat to so many incredible, brave transformations! We are thankful and inspired by your humour, loyalty, and your dedication to your goals. Thank you to all of our staff members, past and present—we are thankful for your time with us. Motivations Nation truly was a family!
Today more than ever we hold a steadfast belief in the importance of our mandate: ‘health and fitness for every body’. We hope it will inspire each and every one of you to stay strong, stay healthy, and believe in yourself.
Yours in fitness,
Lorraine vanLuit, Kym Bice, and Mark O’Dell, co-owners, Motivations Fitness

Lorraine and staff, so sorry to read about your plans to close Motivations. Wendy and I truly enjoyed the time we spent there, and no longer being part of your fitness family was a major regret when we retired and moved away. All the best to you in the future.

It is with sadness but also with understanding and appreciation that I acknowledge the closing of Motivations. I believe I may be one of the longest-standing members of Motivations – I have been a member since it opened. The fitness that I have been able to maintain through the use of Motivations and the help of the staff has had a huge positive impact on my life and I have greatly valued the contributions and friendship of all the staff. I wish you all a happy and healthy retirement from Motivations. I shall miss you.

Lorraine, Kym, and Mark, thank you for your years of providing an excellent fitness facility and environment. Jane and I will miss the many trips to the gym from the Main St. location and then the Summit Centre. We wish you and your staff all the best.
Wendy McRae says
Lorraine and Kym I very much understand why you decided to retire now. I just want to tell you we will really miss working out at Motivations . Lorraine, thank you especially, for being the best personal and group trainer. Training with you for almost 20 years has been the best for my physical well being. You made working out soo much fun. Every workout was different. You truly are the best trainer. Wishing you all the best retirement. Xoxo

Lorraine and Kym,
Sad to hear Motivations will be closing it’s doors after 30 years but totally understand.
I have been a member at the gym for a few years now and have loved it.
Right from the start you always made a point of getting to know your members by name and it truly wasn’t just a gym, it was like a big family.
Thank you also to all the instructors for the great classes.
I will miss you!
Take care and happy retirement to you!

Thank you so much, Lorraine, for your outstanding commitment to both physical and mental health. Your classes were fun and productive; and a day without your smile was like a day without sunshine. Fortunately, you smiled EVERY day.
Please stay safe in these nasty times.
Lynn Montgomery says
Oh no, while not unexpected, I am so sad. Lorraine always brought such joy to any class I took and I was so hoping the gym would finally reopen and we would resume some sort of normalcy. I so respect Lorraine and Kim and all they put into helping us get healthier bodies and wish them and Mark a happy retirement. They will really be missed.

While fully understanding this decision in these times of economic uncertainty, I will greatly miss Motivations. I am a relatively new client but I nevertheless felt very comfortable and welcomed there. The staff are first class in all aspects and I wish everyone all the best.
Please stay safe and healthy and thank you for being there for me as I deal with my own situation.
