I like Mr Lawson’s comments regarding showing more respect and support for our police force .We don’t want to become like California where we see looting and trashing businesses in broad daylight.
I wanted to drive thru downtown today to ensure I validate what I had thought to be true. Indeed, a quick google search will also confirm that a bench at the newly designed and landscaped Kent Park across from Algonquin Outfitters, was dedicated with pride colours last year on July 18th, 2022. The following is taken from the Huntsville Doppler, printed on the 17th July. “Forth explains that just last month, Muskoka Pride donated rainbow benches to all municipalities in Muskoka to help to ensure a year-round visible symbol of the commitment to diverse and inclusive communities. The funding was provided through the District of Muskoka’s Community Enhancement grant. “Mission accomplished! The bench is in a beautiful park and located in a highly visible area that is well maintained. There is already a visible presence of support and community within the same vicinity.
If it isn’t obvious by now, Toronto street gangs have been franchising their drug operations to northern towns for a few years, and Huntsville is no exception. I personally don’t know anyone under the age of 80 who has died from Covid, but I can count dozens of young men and women from this town who have fallen victim to the opioid crisis. Imagine being a police officer with a young family, approaching this vehicle alone at 11 at night. You would have a split second to decide whether one of these guys might open fire on you. If you end up shooting one of them, society might want you charged with murder. That displays real bravery and courage that we should recognize. Yet, we are told that men dressing like women are our brave heroes, and police are an evil force that needs defunding. The progressive fantasy utopia is dissolving, and reality is getting closer and closer to home.
