From Huntsville OPP
The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of an individual with a weapon in the Town of Huntsville.
On September 30, 2024, at approximately 1:10 p.m., Huntsville OPP officers responded to reports of an individual behaving erratically in the downtown area. It was also reported that the individual possessed a knife.
Police contained the area, and the local high school and recreation centre initiated a hold and secure. The individual was located and apprehended without incident.
There was no threat to the public’s safety.
Despite the high volume of pedestrian traffic, the public were responsive to police presence and avoided the area during the incident. The Huntsville OPP would like to thank the community for their cooperation.

George Young says
So now what will our court system do to show there is a consequence for this kind of behaviour.
Another slap on the wrist? Probation?
Unfortunately I think we know the answer.
The Real Person!
The Real Person!
This notice is further from the truth of what happened there was total confusion created by the OPP there were police vehicles left in the middle of roads with no officers in site, people wandering everywhere!! there was even a tactical vehicle abandoned on the bridge with an officer coming and going with traffic everywhere. It was rather disorganized i was watching from the middle of the road in my vehicle witnessing this gong show. Not one officer directing or controlling traffic or people and i disagree people were not avoiding the area, downtown was crowded!!
