Incident on Huntsville’s Main Street West leaves many shaken

Many parents and guardians of students at Huntsville Public School were relieved to learn that no one was injured in an incident that saw a pickup truck jump the curb, knock down a light post and a couple of street signs in front of the Red Door. The vehicle finally came to a stop at least five metres further up the road.

The incident took place just before 3 p.m. on May 18—which left many wondering what would’ve happened had the situation unfolded a bit later in the day while students were walking home from school or people were on the sidewalk on their way to pick up students.

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired.

I wonder if this is a criminal offence? If convicted.

    Jo Ann Cryderman,
Thank you for your comment. We do not know the name. The OPP did not release the name.

    I agree with Mr. Michael!

If you are going to drive impaired, you should be made known to the general public!
