Floods have swept across six West and Central African countries and brought devastation to its people. Homes have been destroyed, people displaced, and the death toll is mounting.
Meanwhile, here in Huntsville, Mustapha, fondly known as Moosty, is a friendly, hardworking, and extremely polite young man who is having great difficulty with news of the situation as he worries for his family and mourns the loss of his brother. His family’s home was completely destroyed by flooding and his brother, 26, lost his life while trying to save people in his community from the floods.
Mustapha has been working at Family Place Restaurant for the past seven years and has become part of the family. Restaurant owner Jenny Spring has started a GoFundMe campaign to help Mustapha’s family.
“Mustapha is feeling so far away from his family and is grieving from the loss of his younger brother. Many people have been asking how they might be able to help Mustapha. I suggested that we start a Go-Fund-Me to help to raise funds to support Mustapha’s family during this difficult time. Mustapha will ensure that the money raised will go towards providing immediate relief for his family and helping with the damages caused by the flood.
Your generous donations will bring comfort to the family as they navigate through their grief and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. Thank you for your kindness, support and solidarity.
Jenny, Oliver, Jett, Jonah, Juniper and the Family Place family,” she wrote.
