The Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association (HMATA) is looking to secure Administrative services for the organization to assist the association in meeting its organizational and strategic goals.
The Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) and are inviting organizations or individuals to respond who would be interested in providing administrative support to the board and contributing to the growth of Tourism in Huntsville.

“We feel this is an important step for the organization to take. We have a solid understanding of our organizational goals and priorities and how to best utilize the revenue we receive through the Municipal Accommodation Tax Program,” says Jesse Hamilton, chair of the Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association and general manager of Deerhurst Resort. “Securing administrative services will allow the board to focus on maximizing the impact of the money we receive while also having the support to assist with good governance and managing agreements with all our partners.”
The Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association (HMATA) is a recently formed, non-share capital corporation, which receives seventy percent of the Municipal Accommodation Tax that is collected in Huntsville. HMATA is responsible for determining how to best utilize these funds to grow visitors and occupancies in the Town of Huntsville.
To date the organization will be providing funding to 13 local organizations to support and grow Tourism in Huntsville.

I’m certain that the expertise regarding good governance and agreement management already exists on the Board. In any event, someone dealing with administrative services would be too busy taking minutes at meetings to be an advisor on good governance.
Regarding agreements, she/he would not be a signatory to any agreement; nor would the individual be covered by mandatory Director’s insurance.
In other words, a skilled volunteer could readily fill the position. I’m somewhat disappointed that a Board like yours (whose initial mandate should be to maximize the use of these windfall monies); is already proving not only to be a poor steward, but shirking their responsibilities.
