This is a reminder of two absolute truths. Ontario is a massive space and climate change is real. I’m 75 years old so it’s not encouraging to read about a frost warning in what is really north-central Ontario. It’s a long drive from my home in Ottawa to Timmins; I covered it numerous times in my much younger days. These warnings come on the same day as heat/humidex warnings for the Ottawa region and beyond for the next four days.
* Hydro bills will become more costly than some of us can afford without sacrificing something else. A/C is not an affordable option for many people, including many seniors with companion pets to care for. The companionship of a critter is a comfort for those of us who live on our own. As climate change continues at a steady pace, we have decisions to make. Politicians deliver speeches and sermons, not results. Canada is a prime example within the G-7 or G-20. Despite billions of $$$ in government spending, we still subsidize major oil companies.
* I’m just an old geezer with a cane and a shelter cat who’s going on 13 years old that I adopted 12 years ago. What’s next? Who do we trust now?
Climate change is the correct name for what the earth is experiencing.
But global boiling.
