During extreme cold remember Town facilities can be used to warm up

 

As extremely cold temperatures continue in our community, the Town of Huntsville would like to remind residents and visitors to limit their exposure to the elements and remember the following designated facilities are available to get out of the cold:

Huntsville Civic Centre:
37, Main Street East, Huntsville ON, P1H 1A1
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Canada Summit Centre:
20 Park Drive, Huntsville ON P1H 1P5
Monday to Friday 6:00am to midnight
Saturday 6:30am to midnight
Sunday 7:00am to midnight

Huntsville Public Library:
7 Minerva Street East, Huntsville ON P1H 1W4
Monday to Thursday: 10:00am to 7:30pm
Friday: 10:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am to 4:00pm
Sunday: 12:00pm to 4:00pm

People who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness are encouraged to contact the District of Muskoka at 705-645-2412 for resources available during extreme cold weather events.

Residents can visit Huntsville.ca, as well as follow local media channels for cold weather updates.

    Last night temperatures dipped to minus 30. Same is forecast for tonight. Has the Town of Huntsville or Muskoka District opened warning centres as they did in the past? Would be helpful if they let us know their plans!
