Continuing flooring work at emergency department could cause longer wait times

Flooring replacement work is underway once again in the Emergency Department at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) Site.

The cast room and adjacent hallway in department will remain temporarily closed until February 26, 2018.

Due to the closure, the department is operating with six fewer patient treatment areas, and therefore patients could experience longer wait times as the department has fewer patient care areas available. Flow within the department will be more congested, which may necessitate limits on the number of visitors for patients inside the department because of the limited space.

“Our staff will do its best to minimize the disruption and impact on patient flow,” says Natalie Bubela, Chief Executive Officer. “We appreciate your patience during the construction period, and your understanding of the potential noise associated with the work.”

Just Great. The peak of the flu season and we loose 6 treatment areas.
This is called planning? Wonder what other surprises await?
Is there really anyone in charge?
