Do they even exist anywhere today?
This was in the era where the average mechanical Joe could take apart and fix most radio’s, record players, even some tape players.
Now they are all made in China, welded together totally inscrutably using chip sets the average human cannot comprehend how they work and all designed for maybe a 2 to 5 year life before obsolescence renders them fodder for the landfill.

I remember shopping in all of those places as a youngster. So I would guess late 70s or early 80s. Clearly before Canadian Tire built its new store.

Brings back a lot of memories. Was the place to hang out especially for Citizens Band radio equipment.
I believe the owners name was Mary. Then they moved to a store in downtown Huntsville.
Radio shack is still big in the USA. Even bigger on line store. I don’t think they ship to Canada?
The new generation has no idea what they have missed!

The owners were Mary and Harold Sutton. They were great people. We didn’t have hydro back then and worked off batteries, They rewired stuff for me so it would work off DC. Mary would run the store while Harold would be on the road installing satellite systems when they first became available ( not sure if they were legal yet). Since they retired, fortunately, we have John and Colleen Hemmings on Aspdin Rd ( Hemmings Electronics ) to service ( and supply) our electronic equipment.
