While Giant Tiger is confirmed and will be located beside Winners, which will now have its own entrance, there are also unconfirmed rumours that another box store may be calling the Huntsville mall home.

Gone are Northern Reflections, Hallmark, The Source, Coles bookstore, and there is no indication they plan to open their doors elsewhere in the community.

Ron Henry Jewellers has moved to Huntsville’s Main Street and Anthony’s Hair Design moved to a location on Howland Drive about a year ago. Pearl Vision, according to an employee, plans on relocating to the plaza by Chuck’s Roadhouse. In January, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore indicated they were also moving. Their space was up for lease but they did not know where they were relocating definitively.

Beckers Shoes has moved to a new location within the mall next to where the food court used to be, HPM Pharmacy has also relocated to that side of the mall beside Metro along with the Bell store which is situated in a temporary location for now, but will remain in the mall.

Attempts to reach the mall manager were unsuccessful.

Yes. The doppler should let us know what’s happening locally. There are lots of national and international news talking about world news. They don’t let me know about the changes in the town I’ve called home since 1968.

Wow James, you’re so smart! You’ve read or listened or watched 1 of the 100000000000 other news publications in our world. But did you know that Doppler is a local news organization? That’s right local! In other words, they don’t cover what’s happening in Ukariane, China, the US, the rest of the world OR EVEN CANADA! Ya know where they do cover…. HUNTSVILLE! Yup, bizarre right? They cover just what’s going on in Huntsville. That way ppl who live in Huntsville, or otherwise, that wanna know what’s going on in HUNTSVILLE, can know! Ya dummy.

Re: @ James Rockwell – There is already a glut of news and information regarding ‘inflation’, ‘the war in Ukraine’, ‘China’ s global reach’, etcetera; from a plethora of reputable sources.

There is generally a dirth of local news, and I for one, appreciate the Doppler’s commitment to covering local news, events and culture.

Moreso on the topic of the article, I’d always wondered what they were going to end up doing since the mall was definitely in need of some repairs/maintenance and they were only holding onto a few stores. I imagine the end goal is to just have a strip mall like we see in the cities these days. Handy if indoor settings get locked down again in the future.

I do miss the cruisin’ arcade racing game cabinets they had in there though. Back when I was a kid they basically had a mini arcade corner going on that was always just outside Zellars. Anybody else miss it? What else do you miss about the huntsville place mall?

What do I miss about the Huntsville Mall?
Public washrooms. A variety of stores. Food court. Tim Hortons. The Source. Northern Reflections. Zellers (it’s been so long I forget how to spell it), a variety/gift store, a men’s wear store, hairdressers, COLES BOOKSTORE, COLES BOOKSTORE, COLES BOOKSTORE. Oh wait, did I mention COLES BOOKSTORE? The Clothes Closet…PUBLIC WASHROOMS, a restaurant…
PEOPLE moving back and forth between stores; it’s quiet.
