This Civic Day long weekend from Friday, August 4, 2023 to Monday, August 7, 2023, members of the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be patrolling local towns, highways, and waterways.
Officers will be focusing their patrols on aggressive driving, speeding, distracted driving, impaired operation, failing to move over for emergency vehicles and other Highway Traffic Act offences. Marine officers will also be patrolling local waterways for alcohol-related offences, personal floatation devices and other marine offences.
OPP would like to remind everyone this Civic Day long weekend to have fun, be responsible and always think safety.

It was great to see the OPP Marine Unit on the waterways this long weekend. One speeder slowed down when he saw them in a 9 k zone. Many canoeist and swimmers about. Thank you OPP!
