The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is holding two walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Huntsville at the Canada Summit Centre (20 Park Drive) this week, on Thursday, Aug. 5 and Friday, Aug. 6. There are also two clinics at the Bracebridge Sportsplex (110 Clearbrook Trail) on Tuesday, Aug. 3 and Wednesday, Aug. 4.
Those needing a first dose of vaccine can arrive between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. Those who have already received a first dose on an earlier date* can get a second jab from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The walk-in clinics are for residents of Simcoe Muskoka only who are at least 12 years of age. The vaccines provided are mRNA and doses are available while supplies last.
*If you received an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as your first dose, you are eligible for your second dose at the provincial interval of at least 28 days after the first dose. If you received AstraZeneca vaccine as your first dose and are opting to receive an mRNA vaccine for your second dose you are eligible for your second dose 8 to 12 weeks after your first dose.
Dress for the weather as you may be required to wait outdoors. Bring your health card, a list of medications, and any assistive devices you may require (walkers, canes, etc.)
