An Utterson man was in court recently facing a pair of driving-related offences.
Appearing in a Bracebridge courtroom, Evan Monk, 36, pled guilty to driving while disqualified and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.
Court heard that on Dec. 10, 2022, at 3:45 pm the OPP were on patrol on Manitoba Street in Bracebridge. The officers noticed a pick-up truck with the blinker on and checked the license plate. The search revealed the owner of the vehicle, Monk, was prohibited from driving.
Court heard the officers observed the vehicle driving at inconsistent speeds and swerving. The driver struck a snowbank along the side of the road, righted the vehicle, but then hit the snow bank again and was pulled over, the court heard. The police smelled alcohol and Monk blew readings of 160 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, one year of probation and banned from driving for two years.

It maybe just me, but I think there are more of these kind of incidents than ever.
I hope, but I doubt that this moron has learned his lesson. Let’s hope he doesn’t kill somebody as a result of his stupidity.
