Town reminds residents that all playgrounds, fields, and parks are closed under a provincial order

A message from the Town of Huntsville

The Town of Huntsville would like to remind residents that a provincial order has been issued in accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act that requires all recreational and outdoor amenities be closed.

Town staff have continued to receive reports of residents using sporting fields, playgrounds and sport courts. Please obey posted signage by refraining from entering the designated area and avoid all group gatherings.

It is essential that these emergency orders are followed in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. If you observe a suspected violation of the order please contact Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122. To see a full list of recreational and outdoor amenities see the Province of Ontario’s March 30th emergency order.

Residents are asked to use caution when passing through all public amenities as they are not being sanitized at this time. When in any public space residents are asked to practice physical distance of two metres, have no more than five people, and wash or sanitize your hands before and after use. Please continue to stay home whenever possible so you can help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The Town, District of Muskoka and other area municipalities are working together to support residents and communities during COVID-19.
