Theft from businesses results in stolen property and drug charges

From the Huntsville OPP

On March 15, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was dispatched to a reported theft at various businesses at 111 Howland Drive, Huntsville. 

Police located the suspect and discovered various stolen items. In addition, a quantity of drugs were found on the male. During this investigation, officers uncovered details suggesting that the male may recently have been responsible for several acts of vandalism in the community, related to spray painting walls and signs.

Charged is Scott James HAMPSON, 29 years old of Huntsville, Ontario, with:

  • Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING  x 2
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on April 22, 2025.

The Huntsville OPP is continuing with the investigation into the vandalism and asks anyone with information on similar acts of vandalism to contact the detachment at 705-789-5551.

    Happy these guys are being busted but the revolving door for them needs to be CLOSED….tired of the same few guys REPEATEDLY committing crimes!!
    Remember these repeat offenders whn you go to Vote, one party is pledging to stop this
