Community members are invited to The HUB Muskoka co-working centre (1 Crescent Rd Huntsville), which will host a Disability Awareness Art Showcase Event on Tuesday, June 18, between 12:30 and 2 p.m. The featured guest is Caroline Butson, a local artist who experiences the healing power of the arts for autism and shares this with exceptional children and youth on the autism spectrum through her ‘Creative Art Adventures’ program. Caroline’s artwork is exhibited at The HUB until mid-August and will be accompanied on June 18 by a special display of artwork created by children in the ‘Creative Art Adventure’ program. The following other community organizations and members who support people with disabilities will share information and host interactive displays:
- Autism Ontario
- Ontario Track3 Adaptive Sports Association
- Karis Disability Services
- Hands The Family Help Network
- Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions
… and possibly more to come.
Please attend to help create a warm reception for Caroline and our other guests. You may leave with a shifted perspective on diversity, inclusion, and art as a form of expression and source of healing.
