Each week, Huntsville’s own Grant Nickalls will inspire us, entertain us, make us laugh or perhaps cry, but always he will remind us why Huntsville is the best place on earth to call home.
This week: Grant recalls a swingin’ time from Huntsville’s past.

It’s so nice to get this ‘hit of home’ every week! Really enjoying the history lessons Grant!
I really love “Our Town” Grant Nickalls and it is the first place I go when I open Doppler every week. Thank you for the great pictures and wonderful verbal depiction of “Our Town.” I learn something new every week. A great idea!!
The bridge was still swinging in 1956. We were married that year at All Saints Church. I was at the church and the service was delayed because my wife-to-be and her father, William Sinclair, were held up on the other side of the river because the bridge had opened to let a boat through!
Thank you so much Grant for our Huntsville history lesson. Our Town, is a must for me and really makes my day.
Thanks Grant. Your “Our Town” episodes are one of the highlights of my week. Really enjoying what Doppler has to offer.
