It’s that time of year, a time to reflect on all your blessings and give back to the communities where you work, live, and play.
Stratton Homes and Kim O’Grady are hosting the first annual Toy, Tool & Food Drive on Saturday, December 10th from 12 noon to 2 pm at their most recent build – 12 St. Andrews Circle. They are hoping to gather their families, friends, trades, clients, and neighbours for a festive celebration while also encouraging more donations for local families in need.
With the number of weekly visitors to the food bank increasing and donations being down, there is high demand for some extra help, as well as new volunteers. “This is why we feel so strongly about bringing in local donations for our local families through The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation,” according to Kristie Shaver, director of sales & marketing for Stratton Homes.
There will be hot drinks and treats, music and festive decorations as well as work vehicles waiting for unwrapped toy donations, household tools, non-perishable food items, and monetary donations as well.
“We welcome individuals, families and businesses to join us in this effort to make it a highly successful day of giving back!” added Shaver.
The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation is also looking to fill the following volunteer positions:
The Coldest Night of the Year – donations and those who will walk
Cleaners
Soup Kitchen Delivery Drivers (1.5 hours)
Fundraising
Spring Garden
Baking
Food Rescue Processing
Food Bank Leader (Saturdays, twice a month)
Food Bank Volunteer (Saturdays) 9:30 a.m. to -1:15 p.m.
