The Fowlers Atom Rep Otters hosted 10 teams at their home tournament on November 9-11, 2018 at the Canada Summit Centre.
The Otters first played against the Waterford Wildcats from the A Division on Friday, November 9, pulling out their first win 3-1.
On Saturday, Huntsville met Englehart Express to steal another win 6-1. Later that day they played the North Durham Warriors in their first loss of the weekend but still earned a spot in the semi-finals.
On Sunday, November 11, the Otters arrived to the Don Lough Arena pumped and ready to go head-to-head with the Porcupine Jr. Gold Kings.
“We came up short in the semis,” said Coach Jason Stillar, with a very close game and an intense final two minutes but lost 1-2.
“I’m very proud of the effort the boys put forth, punching our ticket to the finals,” added Stillar. “I’m even happier with the way the boys exemplified the meaning of true sportsmanship and character on and off the ice.”

The Atom Rep team would like to thank all local businesses and individuals that donated to the silent auction or ice time as well as the countless volunteers who made the weekend a big success.
The manager of the tournament, Christine Frasier, added, “Without the support of our local businesses, events like this would be a challenge.”
