Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner stopped in Parry Sound–Muskoka for two days on his “Local Champions Tour” to meet with deputy leader and local candidate Matt Richter.
Richter and Schreiner took time to visit with people at the Fire and Ice Festival, knock on doors in area neighbourhoods, and meet with local representatives from the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and Scales Nature Park.
After a best-ever finish in the 2022 election with 40% of the popular vote, Richter’s campaign continues to build momentum ahead of the upcoming provincial election, attracting more than 400 volunteers and $100k in grassroots donations. Richter recently launched a listening campaign, which includes a survey delivered to every household in Parry Sound–Muskoka, providing people the opportunity to tell their next MPP what they want him to fight for at Queen’s Park.
“I don’t need to tell Matt what to do when it comes to looking out for his community,” said Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner. “He’s out here every day, knocking on doors, reaching out by phone and making sure people know that he works for them. At Queen’s Park, I won’t be his boss – the people of Parry Sound–Muskoka will be.”
Earlier this week, Ontario Greens unveiled their Plan for Rural Ontario, which highlights the party’s commitment to standing up for rural and remote communities like those in Parry Sound–Muskoka, with a plan to directly tackle housing affordability and rural healthcare challenges, support the local food sector, improve local infrastructure and protect nature.

Thank you Mike Schreiner for visiting Parry Sound-Muskoka/Almaguin. We REALLY appreciate your support and the People of PSMA are getting to know you, Matt and what Greens are all about.
And that Greens are not about taking away gas and propane, but offering to replace those fuels with less expensive alternatives.
Greens are about addressing the Healthcare crisis, and believe me, it is a CRISIS. Greens about about addressing the Education crisis and Housing crisis, while the current government is about building highways to increase sprawl, of unaffordable housing, that “friends” will build.
Our province is in CRISIS and Parry Sound-Muskoka/Almaguin continues to suffer under the current government.
If there was ever a time to VOTE this is it!! Get out and Vote for the change YOU want to see in PSMA and Ontario.
Paul Kuebler, CFO for the Campaign to Elect Matt Richter.
