In an effort to highlight the important contributions of regional tourism employees towards the strength and resiliency of our sector, Explorers’ Edge is very pleased to announce the launch of The Big Applause Awards that will recognize employee excellence in the RTO12 region.
Nominations are now open for employees who deserve recognition for their overall performance and demonstration of transferable skills, including:
• The Employer Applause Award
• The Guest/Patron Applause Award
• The Fellow Staff Applause Award
• The Exceptional Communications Award
• The Above & Beyond Customer Service Award
• The Innovative Problem Solving Award
An additional category—The Future of Tourism Award—will be given to hospitality and tourism students at six regional secondary schools who express keen interest in the sector and who make positive contributions to their class.
Winners will be announced at the Regional Tourism Summit on June 22 at The Kee to Bala. They will each receive $200 Cdn to spend at regional tourism businesses (accommodations, attractions, events, restaurants or shops), and will be invited to a celebratory luncheon at the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa.
All nominees will be recognized at the Regional Tourism Summit.
Nominations for The Big Applause Awards close on June 9, 2022 at noon. Employers are invited to share the nomination categories for Guest/Patrons and Fellow Staff with those stakeholders.
