The eagerly anticipated annual Christmas auction has come and gone for the Rotary Club of Huntsville, kicking off the start of the Christmas season. This year, local businesses and individuals generously donated over 270 items to contribute to the November 19 auction.
Similar to previous years, there was a wide range of goods and services for people to bid on. According to Peter Redwood and Nickie Savage, two of the event’s key organizers, people actively bid on items as wide-ranging as power equipment, top soil, restaurant certificates and facials. “There is always something of interest for everyone. It’s really a community-oriented event, which makes the event so interesting and successful.”
This year’s auction made a profit of over $31,000. These locally raised proceeds will be put towards future Rotary Club projects in the Huntsville community.
The success of the auction is a result of the generosity of numerous people and companies.
First and foremost, The Rotary Club of Huntsville would like to thank everyone who bid and participated in the auction. Rotary is thrilled to see how well received the auction is year after year, and the bidders’ participation is undeniably what allows them to run this annual event.
The club also thanks all the companies who generously donate goods and services each year – their ongoing support continuously serves as the foundation for this auction.
Finally, the club says it would be remiss if it didn’t thank YOUR TV for televising the auction. Their partnership played a key role in making this year’s auction a success.
