I once interviewed Rocky and his wife, Muriel, about their son Brad when I was putting together a display of the handful of Huntsville natives who had played professional hockey. I believe the list included , at the time, Jack Bionda, Eldie
Watson, Ken Thompson, Jim Higgs, John Clayton, Ethan Moreau, Bob Peppler and Brad Rhiness. Aside from Ethan, Brad had the longest professional hockey career. Someday I’m sure he’ll be in the Huntsville Sports Hall of Fame. It’s just too bad that Rocky won’t be there to enjoy it.

Spending a lot of time at the arena growing up Rocky ( Mr Rhiness) to me back then was such an involved parent. Always at hockey, lacrosse games for Brad or figure skating sessions for Julianne. I remember him helping out with the skating carnivals but more importantly I remember him as having a good ❤️. He was always more than willing to offer a ride home if it was needed. RIP Mr. Rhiness
