On January 19, 2018 members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. on Hwy 60 in the Town of Huntsville.
Just before midnight a vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. lane as normal, the officers recognizing the passenger in the vehicle to be a female party wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Carma PATTERSON a 36-year-old female from Huntsville was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Further investigation found that the accused had a substantial amount of cash, Schedule 1 substances believed to be Cocaine and a variety of pills believed to be Hydromorph Contin and Oxycodone. As a result she has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – C.D. S. A. (Controlled Drug and Substances Act)
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance x3 – C.D. S. A
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00 – C.C. (Criminal Code of Canada).
- Breach of Recognizance C.C.
- Fail To Appear C.C.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 22, 2018 to answer to her charges.
