R.I.D.E. stop results in drug charges for local woman after cash and drugs found

On January 19, 2018 members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. on Hwy 60 in the Town of Huntsville.

Just before midnight a vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. lane as normal, the officers recognizing the passenger in the vehicle to be a female party wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Carma PATTERSON a 36-year-old female from Huntsville was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Further investigation found that the accused had a substantial amount of cash, Schedule 1 substances believed to be Cocaine and a variety of pills believed to be Hydromorph Contin and Oxycodone. As a result she has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – C.D. S. A. (Controlled Drug and Substances Act)
• Possession of Schedule 1 Substance x3 – C.D. S. A
• Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00 – C.C. (Criminal Code of Canada).
• Breach of Recognizance C.C.
• Fail To Appear C.C.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 22, 2018 to answer to her charges.
