The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a 26-year-old male with drug and criminal code offences.
On July 18, 2021 at approximately 1:00 a.m. members of the OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Main St. West in the town of Huntsville.
The initial investigation resulted in the arrest of driver, Hanad AHMED for possession of a controlled substance.
Further investigation resulted police learning that Mr. AHMED was on probation.
As result of the investigation police located a quantity of controlled substance, and prohibited weapons. Two Percocet pills, various break and enter tools, a spring assisted knife, small baseball bat and an explosive device were seized by police.
Hanad AHMED (26), of Scarborough has been charged with:
– Possessing explosives for an unlawful purpose contrary to section 82 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Unauthorized possession of a weapon contrary to section 91 (2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
The accused, Hanad AHMED was held for Bail Hearing scheduled on July 18, 2021 in the Ontario Court of Justice Court Huntsville. Mr. AHMED remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Court Huntsville on July 22, 2021.
