Police charge two people in relation to theft at Bracebridge Legion

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people in relation to a daytime theft from the Royal Canadian Legion in Gravenhurst.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at approximately 3:20 p.m., two individuals entered the Royal Canadian Legion located on Veterans Way in Gravenhurst and stole a quantity of items, including irreplaceable World War 1 and World War 2 memorabilia, clothing, and a wheelchair. Bracebridge OPP officers conducted an investigation into the theft and with the assistance of community members and the availability of surveillance footage nearby, the suspects were identified.

Police have charged 32-year-old Ashley SCHELL and 34-year-old Jesse DAWSON, both of Gravenhurst, each with Theft OVER $5000 CC 334(a). The accused parties will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 17, 2024 and January 14, 2025, respectively, to answer to their charge.

    The missing items have probably been fenced to the local drug dealer who has shipped them off to the city where they have been sold on marketplace…hopefully there were no firearms that could easily be reactivate

    Keep the two men in jail until they disclose where the stolen objects are. Stealing memorabilia from the Legion is about as low as you can go.

    In this liberal justice system,these two guy’s,who obviously were raised by Wolves,if they are willing to rob the legion,they have no concept of what they did.
    They will be out,in plenty of time,to sell their stolen, precious items.
    That’s the country we are living in, politicians have zero consequences,for their actions,it’s the same with these guys.

    Here’s a novel idea…Keep these felons in jail until they reveal the whereabouts of the pilfered objects . Letting them out means they can pursue sales of the stolen items !
