The Huntsville Public Library invites you to the 3rd annual Orange Shirt Day March and Gathering on Saturday, September 30, 2024, starting at 9:45 a.m. behind the Algonquin Theatre.
This event is coordinated each year in partnership with Hope Arises Project Inc. and The Town of Huntsville.
The Special guest speaker this year is Jan Beaver. Jan is an author, storyteller, and educator and a proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of her educational work. She is a member of the Alderville First Nation (Anishinaabe). She has dedicated most of her life to learning and teaching others about the history, traditions, and cultures of First Nation peoples.
The Chippewa Travellers Drumming Group will also be there in honour of Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation.
This is a family-friendly event, and all are welcome.
