UPDATE:
The Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is providing an update on the investigation of the water-related incident on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Bracebridge OPP along with the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) conducted a thorough search of Lake Muskoka for a male that was reported missing. Sadly, at 6:30 p.m. the 31-year-old was recovered deceased from the water.

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a water-related incident on Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst.
On April 28, 2024, at 11:20 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers, along with Muskoka EMS and the Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to an address on Muskoka Road 169 near Glen Echo Road in Gravenhurst regarding a possible drowning.
Loved ones called 9-1-1 to report that a 25-30-year-old Toronto area man who is visiting the area took a kayak out onto Lake Muskoka near Taylor Island and encountered difficulties, causing him to enter the water. The search began quickly, and the Bracebridge OPP marine unit members attended to assist in the search. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) will also attend.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as they become available.
