OPP arrest wanted man at local hotel, leading to drug trafficking charges against a woman

 

On December 29, 2018 at approximately 5:45 a.m. officers from the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call at 70 Howland Drive, Huntsville, Ontario regarding a male causing a disturbance. Police determined that the male staying at Motel 6 was wanted by North Bay Police Service and possibly in possession of a firearm.

Huntsville OPP uniform members, Huntsville OPP Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team arrested the male, 28-year-old Courtney Antonio Barnett of North York, Ontario without incident in the Motel 6 parking lot.

Further investigation led to the arrest of a 21-year-old female from Etobicoke Ontario, Oceanna Husbands, and her being charged with the following:

1- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid

2- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine

Police seized cocaine and fentanyl, with the street value of $2,600.
